Here, a form of the verb to make was part of the problem, as depicted in this formula:

Star makes

Another common generic verb, to do, can be a signal of similar troubles:

Star does

Example:

This app does the recording of transactions.

Leading Star and Main Action:

This app does the recording of transactions.

Clear version:

This app records transactions.

To make things even more difficult, these two generic verbs can be used with the generic verb to be as a helping verb.

Example for make:

Formula:

Main Action and Leading Star:

Clear version:

SNR is measured before applying AC bias.
