Phrases 3

Adjective phrases with their unique prepositions: time to practice some more. Practice by saying them out loud.

happy about X :

We are happy about the decision to begin.

They were unhappy about the rise in costs.

[also common: happy with X]

ready for X :

I'm ready for anything.

Are you ready for all the work that's needed?

sure of X :

She is sure of herself.

He was so sure of the outcome that he didn't even try.

open to X :

They were open to suggestions for changing the process.

Some people are not open to discussing politics.

pleased with X :

We were not pleased with the results of the experiment.

We were displeased with their behavior.

Note: These adjectives are not always used with only these prepositions. They are just the most common combinations.
