Here are some more slang phrases that people in the US might use.

check out = to investigate something; to be verified as accurate; inspect someone to assess their attractiveness

Check this out! His story actually checks out: they really did work all weekend. Now he's smiling at you. Are you checking him out? Be professional!

jump ship = quit a job because you think the company is going to fail or because you want to join a rival company

It makes no sense to jump ship just before our IPO. That would be a dumb time to leave.

killer = outstanding; devastating; very difficult

I downloaded a killer app to learn math, because that last test was a killer.

my bad = that was my mistake, sorry about that

My bad! I wasn't paying attention, and I got it all wrong.

piece of cake = very easy

The math test was a piece of cake. Studying with that app really helped.

roll with it = accept things as they are or as they happen

This job can be frustrating at times, but I've learned to roll with it.
