Proofread.com is owned and operated by Joseph Judge. He has published several textbooks and dozens of market research reports.
Beginning in the late 1970s, Joe was
in and out of engineering school. His early career moves
included: power plant construction for Westinghouse, power
system design for Exxon refineries, and government aircraft proposals for Lockheed. In between these jobs, he earned three engineering masters degrees from Rensselaer. After this Joe was happily employed for a decade in the aerospace industry in Los Angeles, consulting on satellite programs for the government.
His next career move was an MBA from Stanford. He then joined consulting firms Alphametric and Netyear Group, where he wrote market research reports and advised executives in large Japanese companies. Joe managed to make up for his lack of Japanese language skills with diligence, humor, and good manners.
Joe started his training career when he was asked to teach a business writing class as part of the Stanford Continuing Studies Program. After teaching the class twice, he published Write Better at Work. Since then, he developed and taught an advanced workshop in business writing, which he will eventually publish in a self-study workbook.
Joe likes educational organizations. He has been a tutor for Project Read and for I Have a Dream. He served on the board of the Positive Coaching Alliance. He also likes writing fiction and is a member of Pennwriters.
